Dear Friends of Visual Pathways, Inc.

Research & Development logoEach year R&D Magazine selects the top 100 products in several categories, one of which is in Life Sciences. Today we learned that “the ARIS™ Automated Retinal Imaging System has been selected by the independent panel and editors of R&D Magazine as one of the 100 most technologically significant products in this category introduced into the marketplace over the past year. This year’s program was especially competitive and you should be proud of your accomplishment.” We are indeed proud of this accomplishment and our excellent team here at VPI that made this possible.

The R&D 100 Award will be presented at an Awards Banquet on October 20, 2005 in the Grand Ballroom of Chicago’s Navy Pier. We will be in Chicago at that time for the American Academy of Ophthalmology Annual Meeting where we will be exhibiting the ARIS™. Here is the Chicago Tribune’s description of the R&D 100 Awards:

"The Oscars of Invention"- The Chicago Tribune

For 42 years, the prestigious R&D 100 Awards have been helping companies provide the important initial push a new product needs to compete successfully in the marketplace. The winning of an R&D 100 Award provides a mark of excellence known to industry, government, and academia as proof that the product is one of the most innovative ideas of the year.

See the winners of this year's R&D 100 Awards in the September issue of R&D.

I know you will share in our excitement and gratification with the news of this recognition of an important accomplishment in our continued efforts in “Preserving Vision. Preventing Blindness.”

Sincerely,

Gary F. Buck
